The first set of stilts I ever walked on was Drywall stilts. My good friend who works in construction came for a visit one afternoon in the late summer. As we stood at the back of his company truck shooting the breeze I happened to see what looked like a metallic prosthetic foot sticking out.. he went on telling me about his Drywall stilts and how they help him every day.
He told me how hard it was to hang drywall with a ladder. When using stilts it made all the work go smoothly and with ease. And how easy it was to walk on them. So of course I had to try them out. It was surprisingly easy and they were adjustable which made it easy to learn starting off low and getting higher.
Drywall stilts make construction much easier. After trying them, I couldn't imagine going back to a ladder. You can just stand there do all your work: hang, mud, install lights, paint, whatever is needed.
